Note: Important information regarding the layout, background, as well as purpose and goal for this study I have put together in the Preface.
This last period of time before Jesus arrives at Jerusalem for the Passover feast at which he then was crucified, spans several weeks in early spring of 28 AD, during which Jesus at first still was teaching and ministering in the vicinity of Judea and beyond Jordan, from where he also travelled toward to Samaria. Several discourses with the Pharisees are recorded, as well as teachings to his disciples.
At some time during this period, the famous incident with the blessing of the samll children took place. Around that time also Lazarus of Bethany died and was raised from the dead by Jesus.
Jesus later went to Ephraim and came to the broder area between Judea and Samaria, before then beginning to travel toward Jerusalem for the upcoming Passover. On his way he comes through Jericho, there four blind men are healed, among them Bartimaeus. At Jericho, Jesus also met with Zacchaeus.
Around that time, shortly before the Passover, the leaders of the Jews are conspiring to take Jesus captive.
