Note: Important information regarding the layout, background, as well as purpose and goal for this study I have put together in the Preface.
On 1 Tishri in 27 AD, Jesus began his 30th year. Shortly afterwards he began proclaiming his death and resurrection for the first time to the disciples while he was with them near Cesarea Philippi.
The next significant event is the transfiguration of Jesus, which was part of his ordination and inauguration into his office as high priest which he was ministering in from that time onward.
Between the transfiguration and the next annual feast for which Jesus and his disciples went to Jerusalem in accordance with the ordinances in the Law, there are a healing and several teachings recorded which happened in Galilee and also on the way to Jerusalem through Samaria. Jesus also announced a second time his sufferings, death and resurrection.
At the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem extensive discussion with the religious leaders there is recorded, after the feast on a sabbath day a man born blind was healed and Jesus also taught at that time about him being the good shepherd. Around that time also, Jesus begins to prepare for the sending forth of another 70 disciples to go through Galilee and preach the gospel of the kingdom of God.
